"I would like to extend my deep gratitude and appreciation for the assistance received from The Roy Williams Safety Net Foundation. I was first made aware of the program by my parents who viewed a broadcast from Channel 8-WFAA News featuring Mr. Williams explaining the Safety Net Foundation.
In March, 2006, I was in a very bad delinquent status with [the day care center my daughter was attending]. I was informed that without immediate resolve of my account my daughter would be removed from the center. Mr. Williams and his diligent staff went to work immediately to assist with my needy request. Because of the prompt response, the foundation resolved the full balance to [the day care center, which afforded [my daughter] the opportunity to continue to receive excellent childcare and quality learning skills to continue to prepare for her bright future ahead.
I have been brought to tears while preparing this letter of thanks. So many times in the news media you hear negative coverage concerning sports figures who have reached a level of success in their careers. Mr. Williams has not forgotten what it means to acquire goals and then reach out to help families in the community financially who are less fortunate or going through a temporary financial hardship. The Dallas Cowboys and the state of Texas should be proud to have such an outstanding person wearing their uniform.
This foundation has afforded me the opportunity to lift the large weight from my shoulders, to have a sense of ease and peace of mind concerning my childcare needs. I can now plant my feet back on solid ground. This assistance gives me a second chance to maintain and sustain a secure existence for my child.
