Programs

The Roy Williams Safety Net Foundation has implemented numerous programs designed to help selected families and other children from low-income single parent households.

Commitment to Excellence
The fundamental objective of Roy Williams Safety Net Foundation is the Commitment to Excellence Program. The Commitment to Excellence Program (CTE) is designed to enhance the educational opportunities of selected single mothers. In an effort to provide opportunities to achieve higher education, the foundation will partner with local community colleges, trade schools, and vocational technology schools to offer scholarship assistance to single mothers who seek to further their education.

In addition to assisting selected mothers in moving onward within their educational goals, the foundation will also strive to provide student support services including tutoring, mentoring and job placement assistance. Each mother will be evaluated on her progress in her course of curriculum and in having positive performance.

Healthy Homes Day
The Roy Williams Safety Net Foundation understands the importance of good health in any household. For many low-income single mothers, providing adequate healthcare for their children is a pressing issue. “Healthy Homes Day” is a one-day program focused on providing single mother families in the Dallas area with the necessary information and assistance needed to be a healthy family. The Safety Net Foundation will team up with local health agencies and clinics for “Healthy Homes Day” in an attempt to reach out to the Dallas community. Throughout the day families will receive screenings and immunizations, and will also be provided with educational materials on how to maintain a healthy home. The Safety Net Foundation will also assist in finding insurance plans for the selected families.

Mom’s Makeover
A major initiative within the Safety Net Foundation’s agenda is to understand the notion that Beauty begins from within. The Foundation believes in the premise that pampering and catering to a mother’s needs is of utmost importance. Hence, the foundation will host an all day Beauty fest known as Mom’s Makeover.

Mom’s Makeover takes place on Mother’s Day and the event provides the selected mothers with a wide array of activities that highlight health and wellness. Not only will selected mothers have the opportunity to receive a deluxe makeover, but manicures, pedicures and aromatherapy will also be available.

"A"ll Pro Club
This program is designed to reward academic excellence for children of low-income single mother households. The Foundation will work with local middle and high school administrators in the Dallas area to select 10-15 youth with above average, average and below average academic records. Club members will participate in educational programs throughout the year that will help to improve their present academic status and to also prepare them for further educational goals. All Pro Club members will attend a dinner outing with Roy Williams and have the opportunity to attend a Dallas Cowboys game.

The Gift of Giving
Roy Williams and the Safety Net Foundation appreciate the value of helping others. The Gift of Giving program is a three-part initiative that will do just that. The first component of the program will be a Thanksgiving and a Christmas dinner at local shelters. The second component is a food drive that will take place at grocery stores throughout the entire Dallas area; canned goods and other items will be collected and donated to families. The final component, and one that Mr. Williams is greatly passionate about, is the “Gift of Giving” toy drive set to take place every Christmas holiday season. Roy Williams will provide gifts to those children of single mother households who are not as fortunate to receive presents during the holiday season.

Safety Net Assistance
Each year the Roy Williams Safety Net Foundation selects 10 – 15 mothers to participate in its year long program, however, through the efforts of the Safety Net Assistance program the foundation is able to assist more single mother households in the Dallas community. The Safety Net Foundation provides this assistance by reviewing requests that are made via our website. Website viewers are able to browse the site and make requests when needed, the requests are then reviewed by the foundation and contact is made. Through this process we are able to make a large impact on the Dallas community.  If you are a single mother here in Dallas County and you are in need of emergency assistance send a message to and you will be contacted by a foundation representative in a timely manner.
